Almond, the fruit of the almond tree, is an oil seed used since antiquity for desserts and is becoming more and more a food synonymous with good health. We find it also in dishes and for breakfast.
Thanks to its energetic value, its richness in lipids, it knows a huge renewal of interest since a few years and is more and more consumed like snack and as an aperitif. It is also used to produce milk and oils. Almond is a constituent of many confectionery (Toron, calissons, marzipan,...) .
Another virtue of the almond is to promote transit, hence its use by veterinarians.
